Neil H. Ekblom Jr. is an Associate in the firm’s New York office, where his practice spans real estate transactions, corporate transactions, complex commercial litigation, and tax lien and mortgage foreclosure. He represents private equity clients, real estate investors, and closely held businesses in distressed asset matters, including foreclosure proceedings, quiet title actions, and the litigation that follows from them, as well as in acquisitions, leasing, and day-to-day corporate matters. Mr. Ekblom also serves privately held companies in transactional matters, drafting and negotiating nondisclosure agreements, master services agreements, and other commercial contracts, and advising on the corporate and operational questions that arise in the ordinary course of business. His litigation practice includes representing restaurant groups and other privately owned businesses in complex commercial disputes.

Prior to joining Bronster, Mr. Ekblom spent seven years as an associate at a boutique New York firm, serving as lead associate on real estate, corporate, and litigation matters for healthcare, media, and entertainment clients. He negotiated and restructured multimillion-dollar commercial lease arrears on behalf of a New York City real estate holding company, structuring workouts, amendments, and forbearance agreements to preserve tenancy and protect asset value. He also structured office space license agreements between healthcare providers and in-office vendors, supported physician practice sales to private equity buyers and physician groups, and drafted and negotiated brand partnership, endorsement, and licensing agreements for a national sports media company, for which he served as outside general counsel.

Mr. Ekblom also serves as an Attorney Advisor with Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, counseling artists and creative entrepreneurs on contract and intellectual property matters.

Mr. Ekblom received his J.D. from Tulane University School of Law, where he was awarded the Dora Rosen Scholarship and served as Treasurer of the Tulane Entertainment and Art Law Society. He earned his B.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University and was elected to Omicron Delta Epsilon, the international economics honor society. During law school, he served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Jane Triche Milazzo of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, drafting decisions on dispositive and procedural motions in healthcare, environmental, fraud, and regulatory matters.
