Yan Borodanski is an associate in the Real Estate Practice Group. His practice includes creditors’ rights litigation, specializing in real estate foreclosure matters in both state and bankruptcy court.
Mr. Borodanski graduated from St. John’s University School of Law, where he earned both a J.D. and a Bankruptcy LL.M. degree. During law school, Mr. Borodanski interned for the Hon. Judge Grossman of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York. Prior to joining Bronster, Mr. Borodanski worked at several AmLaw 200 firms, where he practiced in the bankruptcy and creditors' rights groups. Mr. Borodanski has extensive experience in commercial mortgage and tax lien foreclosure litigation, representing lenders, special servicers, and property receivers in both state and federal court. Mr. Borodanski also has extensive bankruptcy litigation experience, representing debtors, creditors, and trustees in all aspects of corporate reorganizations, restructuring, and consumer bankruptcy. Mr. Borodanski is experienced in drafting dispositive motions, appearing for oral argument, attending to discovery matters, and engaging in settlement negotiations and work-outs. Mr. Borodanski’s bankruptcy litigation experience has also involved complex Chapter 11 cases representing creditors in trustee avoidance actions, surety bond holders and issuers, as well as equipment lessors, pharmaceutical companies, and various business vendors in bankruptcies nationwide.
